How to get a Passport

 

If you are traveling by air out of the country you will need to get a passport. The first thing you will want to do is get a passport photo.

 

Most local drug stores offer this service for around $12.99 however if you are a Costco or Sam’s Club member you can head over to their Photo Center and get a picture done for around $5.

 

If this is your first time applying for the passport, or you are under the age of 16 unfortunately you have to apply in person. The good news is you can complete the form online ahead of time.  Check out this handy to walk you through the process! step-by-step guide

If you simply need to renew you can do so by mail. Just get a passport picture, follow these steps, and you’re all set. 

 

Tip* If you plan on traveling a lot be sure to check the ‘52 page’ box so you have all the extra pages you need to fill that bad boy up at no additional cost.

 

Tip* Don’t wait until the last minute!  Routine passport processing times are 4-6 weeks and expedited is not Amazon Prime, this option still takes weeks typically around 2-3.
